TN Registration Department creates records

Chennai: The Registration Department, a leading revenue earner for the State government, created a record in making a monthly income of Rs 1984.02 crore in November and another record in single day collection of Rs 238.15 crore on December 5, the auspicious day in the Tamil month of Karthigai.
Making the announcement, State Minister for Registration P Moorthy said that on the auspicious day, the department had increased the number for tokens issued for registration from the regular 100 to 150 in all sub-registrar offices.
Also, the November month income was Rs 301.67 crore more than the department earned in November last year, he said.
