Tamil Teen from Erode Bags 3.35 Cr Brown University Scholarship

In an inspiring tale of perseverance and wise decisions, a Tamil Nadu boy has won Rs 3.35 Cr worth scholarship to study Applied Mathematics and Public Health from Brown University.
Pranav Ilango, hailing from Erode has bagged the chance to study at one of the prestigious Ivy League Universities, during the 2026-30 academic years.
The scholarship is set to fully cover all of his academic and living expenses, which would have been out of the reach for his family otherwise. He is set to start his studies in Late August at the university.
He was one of the best performing students at the CS Academy School in Erode, who had opted for the international based IGCSE Cambridge curriculum.
Earlier, he had also bagged the “World Topper” title in IGCSE Mathematics, earning him the recognition and getting inducted to the “Outstanding Cambridge Learners” cohort.
According to him, choosing the Cambridge syllabus was a turning point for his life as it showed the pathway and led him to focus on attaining a chance to study abroad by the end of higher secondary school itself.
