Tamil Nadu: Vijay Inspects SIPCOT Industrial Parks

CHENNAI: Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay inspected the Saint-Gobain glass manufacturing unit at the Sriperumbudur SIPCOT premises and the Renault car factory at Oragadam, both in Kanchipuram district, on Monday and also drove a Duster SUV on the long test track inside the factory premises on Monday
An official press release said that Vijay inspected the area where manufacturing material for glass was handled by robots at the Saint-Gobain facility and also evinced interest in the company’s CSR activity, under which children from poor families were enrolled for the Learn While Earn programme that prepares them for jobs after education.
The initiative has been undertaken in collaboration with Nettur Technical Training Foundation, which gives away diplomas. Vijay enquired about the job opportunities for the trainees in the company. Besides signing on the glass plate kept in the premises, he also visited the other activities in the premises like butterfly garden.
At the Renault factory, he visited the spare parts assembling section and quality control section, besides test driving a Duster.
