Tamil Nadu: Transfer Of A Arun From DVAC Creates A Flutter
Caught in the thick of a persistent social media criticism since his days as Commissioner of Police in Chennai during the DMK regime: Reports
CHENNAI: The transfer of senior IPS officer A Arun out of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in just about 45 days of his appointment has caused a flutter in official circles, giving grist to social media critics to either criticize the move or question his appointment to that sensitive post in the first place.
ADGP Arun was shifted to the Tamil Nadu Police Academy in Oonamancherry as director to fill an existing vacancy and IGP C Mageswari, who was in the special investigation cell of the DVAC, was made the director of DVAC, an official press release.
Caught in the thick of a persistent social media criticism since his days as Commissioner of Police in Chennai during the DMK regime, the trolls continued to target him even after he was transferred out of the post by the Election Commission before the Assembly polls.
When he was appointed as director of the DVAC by the TVK government, the naysayers continued to spew venom on him and found fault with the appointment, claiming that he was close to the DMK.
So when allegations of information leaking from the police department over crucial decisions by the TVK government, the needle of suspicion was pointed at Arun.
