CHENNAI: Giving a clarion call to the people of the State to actively participate in the Self-Enumeration process, Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay said that he had already registered himself in the census, which was essential for implementing future development programmes in the State.

In his message on social media, Vijay said that it was not just an enumeration but something that would form the basis for future developmental programmes that would be planned with the information provided by the people.

The online enumeration process had started in the State on Friday, Vijay said, requesting all families to furnish the true details about them. He also assured that the details would be kept confidential by the authorities.

The census was meant for the people’s welfare and hence it should be successfully completed, he said.

Through the online self-enumeration phase of the Digital Census, citizens could furnish their household details between July 17 and 31 before the door-to-door survey begins.
