Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin said that to put an end to the present trend of Governor’s refusing to read out the Governor’s Address prepared by elected State governments was to end the practice of commencing the first Assembly session of the year with the Governors’ address.
‘First Tamil Nadu. Then Kerala. Now Karnataka. The pattern is clear and deliberate,’ Stalin said in his X page and pointed out that Governors were behaving like party agents, undermining duly elected State Governments.
‘DMK will consult like-minded opposition parties across India and pursue a constitutional amendment in the very next parliamentary session to abolish this obsolete and irrelevant practice,’ he said.
