A total of 2,732 students were conferred degrees at the convocation. They included 659 postgraduates and 67 Ph.D. scholars, with the remaining students from undergraduate programmes.
Chennai:Students should remember that their achievements are built on the contributions of their families, friends, teachers and others who supported them, and should find ways to give back to society, Justice M.M. Sundresh of the Supreme Court said on Saturday.
Addressing the 17th convocation of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS), Justice Sundresh urged the graduating students to remain grateful to those who had contributed to their journey and to remember their alma mater and professors.
A total of 2,732 students were conferred degrees at the convocation. They included 659 postgraduates and 67 Ph.D. scholars, with the remaining students from undergraduate programmes. As many as 92 students were recognised as rank holders for their academic performance, while 27 foreign nationals also received their graduation certificates. The university also conferred honorary doctorates on Gokul V. Subramaniam, President, Intel India, and architect Oscar Concessao, of Oscar & Ponni Rahul Architects, for their contributions to their respective fields.
