Pollachi Victims To Get Rs 25 Lakh Each From Government

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to each of the eight survivors of the 2019 Pollachi sex scandal, who would be receiving that amount over and above the Rs 85 lakh ordered to be paid to all of them together by the Coimbatore Women’s Court that sentenced nine men to life imprisonment on Tuesday.
An official statement on Wednesday lauded the women for their courage in filing complaints against the men who had sexually assaulted them and valiantly fighting for justice.
The court had ordered the Rs 85 lakh to be paid through the District Legal Services Authority.
