Oct. 31 Deadline For School Education Govt Staff To Declare Assets
Officials must now upload their asset and debt declarations directly through the IFHRMS Kalanjiyam mobile application.
Chennai: The director of school education has issued a direction to all employees across the state to mandatorily submit annual property returns of all employees by October 31, 2026.
Officials failing to meet the deadline will face departmental disciplinary action.
The official issued to joint directors, deputy directors, and chief educational officers (CEOs) under rule 7(3) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1973, that every government employee is legally required to declare their movable and immovable assets, liabilities and debts to the government each year.
Reminders regarding compliance had been previously communicated through a government order dated February 11, 2026, followed by a departmental circular from the directorate of school education on April 7, 2026.
In line with a subsequent human resources management department order dated August 5, 2026, the submission process has transitioned entirely online.
Physical, paper-based declarations have been phased out.
Officials must now upload their asset and debt declarations directly through the IFHRMS Kalanjiyam mobile application.
The directive mandates that all designated officials log onto the IFHRMS Kalanjiyam platform using their official user credentials and complete the filing by October 31, 2026.
Following the submission, the officials are required to send a confirmation report to the directorate.
The department reiterated that failure to comply within the stipulated time-frame will result in immediate disciplinary proceedings against the defaulting officers.
