Chennai: Dr Prasanna Kumar Acharya assumed charge as the Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) of NLC India Limited at the Company’s Corporate Office, Neyveli.

Dr. Acharya is a seasoned professional with nearly three decades of rich and diverse experience across leading Indian organisations in the Power, Mining and Infrastructure sectors. Prior to assuming charge as CMD, he served as Director (Finance) of NLC India Limited. During his professional career, he has held key positions in organisations including GRIDCO, NTPC and Tata Power.
His professional journey encompasses diverse domains, including Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Mining, as well as Metro Rail infrastructure. He made significant contributions to major infrastructure initiatives, including the Phase-II Project of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a project with an estimated value of over ₹63,000 crore.
With his extensive experience across diverse sectors, coupled with his broad vision and strategic acumen, Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya is poised to lead NLC India Limited through its next phase of growth and nationwide expansion, with a focus on strengthening the company’s position and progressing towards its vision of becoming a Maharatna enterprise.
