TIRUNELVELI: Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran on Monday accused the TVK government, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, of failing to manage the state’s power requirements effectively, resulting in persistent low voltage problems.

In a post on X, Nagenthran said reports of household appliances, including refrigerators and televisions, being damaged due to low voltage, from Chennai to Coimbatore, were a matter for concern. Despite the summer season having ended, the government had failed to address the power situation, thereby imposing an additional burden on consumers, he alleged.
He termed the alleged inefficiency in handling the power crisis and the administration’s lethargy as highly condemnable. Low voltage had damaged electrical equipment worth several crores of rupees and affected small and micro enterprises across the state, he claimed.
Nagenthran also alleged that even after 100 days in office, the TVK government had failed to put the administration on track and had demonstrated its incompetence. He urged electricity minister Nirmal Kumar to stop making empty promises and take concrete steps to resolve the low voltage problem.
