Thanjavur:Agriculture minister R. Vinoth reviewed the preparations on Saturday at Kumbakonam to meet the northeast monsoon.

Later, he inspected K.M.S. Nagar, Dr. Moorthy Road, Seka Urani land, Fatima Nagar and Darasuram vegetable market.

He asked officials to clear the blocks in drainage channels so that water could drain quickly after rain. He also asked them to remove the encroachments.

Thanjavur Collector R. Revathi, Thirumalai, RDO, Kumbakonam, and Sudha, commissioner of Kumbakonam Corporation, accompanied the minister, said a press release.
