Mallu Ravi Alleges BJP Govt Removed 13 Crore Voters from List
Ravi said that the Union government was removing Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minorities, and economically weaker sections in large numbers from the voters list
Tiruchy: The BJP government at the Centre has so far removed about 13 crore voters from the poll rolls through the SIR and this number will soon rise to 20 crores, according to Congress Lok Sabha member Mallu Ravi of Telangana.
Ravi told media persons at Tiruchy on Sunday that the Union government was removing Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minorities, and economically weaker sections in large numbers from the voters list.
Through this unconstitutional act, Prime Minister Narendra Modi created two different classes of people: those with the right to vote and those without the right to vote, he added. He said the BJP Government misused the SIR and obtained victories in the elections.
He said that leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, were mistreated by the police when they protested for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. This protest, led by Rahul Gandhi, is not just for the Congress party; it is to protect the democracy of India.
He said Rahul Gandhi will definitely take charge as the next Prime Minister. This is the sentiment of the entire Indian population, he added.
