Chennai: The names of former actress Kushboo and BJP leader K T Raghavan, who resigned from the post of State general secretary in August 2021 after a sleaze video of him recorded through a ‘sting operation’ came to light, figured in the long list of office bearers for the State unit of the party, announced by president Nainar Nagendiran on Wednesday.

Among the 14 State Vice Presidents appointed by Nagendiran were Kushboo, Sasikala Pushpa, V P Duraiwswami, K P Ramalingam, Karu Nagarajan and R C Paul Kanagaraj, while in the list of 15 party secretaries were R Karate Thiagarajan and Amar Prasad Reddy.

The general secretary (organization) post was retained by Keshava Vinayagam and R Rengrayagulu alias Sri Ranga continued to be the State media coordinator. S R Sekar was named as the State treasurer and Narayanan Tirupathi was the chief public relations officer.

Nagendiran, who said that the State office-bearers were appointed on the advice of national president J P Nadda, named Raghavan as the State division coordinator after he remained with no official position since 2021.

A one-time contender for the post of State president, Raghavan was once a regular feature on television debates highlighting the BJP’s viewpoints.
