Kin Distressed as 4 Persons on Nepal Tour From Karur Missing

Karur: The family and relatives of four persons from Karur who went on the spiritual tour to Nepal, are greatly distressed as the whereabouts of the pilgrims are not known.
The four persons, three of them women - Tamilarasi of Arunachala Nagar, Dhanalakshmi of KVB Nagar and Karpagam of Kamarajapuram East - and Anbarasu, son of Venkatachalam of North Gandhi Gram, are believed to have been caught in the flash flood at Nepal.
All four went there as part of the same group on August 14.
According to their family members, they have made several attempts to contact them over their mobile phone. They have approached the collectorate, district police department and the special centre opened at Chennai continuously, but they have not yet got any information about them, said the family members.
Periyasamy, husband of Karpagam, said till Wednesday, he was able to contact his wife who said they were waiting for immigration clearance at the office located on the border of Nepal and China. Thereafter, he was unable to contact his wife, he said.
He has sent a few persons to Delhi and the border of India and Nepal to locate his missing wife, he added.
Anbarasu works as a primary school headmaster at Puliyur Kalipalayam. His daughter said every day, she had asked her father to share his location. As per her advice, up to Wednesday, he had shared his location. The finally shared location was when they were waiting for immigration clearance at the office located on the border of Nepal and China, she said.
Thereafter, she was unable to contact her father, she said, adding that the family was distressed because of that.
She appealed to the Central and state governments to locate and secure her missing father safely in Nepal and bring him back home at the earliest.
