Hinduja, Skyroot Aerospace, Other 95 Firms Ink MoUs With Tamil Nadu

Chennai: The Hinduja Group, Skyroot Aerospace and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles were among the 97 firms that inked fresh MoUs with the Tamil Nadu government at a high profile investment conclave here on Thursday.

The MoUs, for a total investment commitment of over Rs 67,452 crore, were signed in the presence of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, and the proposed investments are likely to generate 1.20 lakh jobs, the government said.

They were exchanged at the TVK government's first "Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026", marking a major investment milestone since the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam formed the government in May.

The pacts signed also in the presence of Industries Minister S Keerthana would create employment opportunities for more than one lakh people across sectors, including automotive, renewables and life science, electronics, R&D and data centre.

"We have a strong mix of green field and brown field capital - consisting of new investors choosing Tamil Nadu for the first time, and companies already having their presence and expanding because they have experienced our workforce, infrastructure, to invest more in the state," Keerthana said on the occasion.

According to her, the cumulative investment commitments in the first 100 days of the new government will cross Rs one lakh crore, generating more than 1.20 lakh job opportunities.

"This is on an average of Rs 1,000 crore of commitment capital for every single day we have been in office. Some would call this a significant milestone, but for us the number is only a small part of the story. Your confidence in our governance is the important story," she told the investors.

Since the TVK formed the government, the number of MoUs signed so far has reached 104 for investments to around Rs one lakh crore, as part of the state government's vision to ensure 1.5 trillion USD economy by 2036.

The Hinduja Group will be investing Rs 2,500 crore in renewable energy sector and mobility solutions focusing on the manufacture of solar and wind power systems, battery solutions, automotive and public transport mobility solutions, and provide 500 jobs.

The Skyroot Aerospace, which successfully launched India's private orbiter rocket, will invest Rs 250 crore in the aerospace sector

to set up its first facility in Tamil Nadu at Tuticorin, to create employment opportunities for 500 people.

Some of the key investments include Ultraviolette Automotive investing Rs 779 crore to establish a high-performance electric motorcycle manufacturing facility in Krishnagiri, Agnikul Cosmos with an investment of Rs 400 crore for space technology and launch vehicle assembly in Tuticorin, Titan Company to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Hosur for premium watch and jewelry production, as well as high-end automation and Saint-Gobain will invest Rs 2,000 crore for a new unit in Krishnagiri and expansion in Kanchipuram.

Lucas TVS will be investing Rs 2,500 crore focused on EV and automotive components, while Super Micro Computer Systems will invest Rs 477 crore for AI server manufacturing in Chennai, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will invest Rs 4,000 crore in Kanchipuram, Australia-headquartered Avid DEM to invest Rs 7,000 crore for mining components and infrastructure projects and also in healthcare and mobility solutions.

Also, J K Tyre will invest Rs 5,143 crore in Kanchipuram for tyre manufacturing, the (Japan-based) YKK India will invest Rs 1,651 crore in Thiruvallur for zipper and fastening product manufacturing, Avalon Technologies to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Kanchipuram for electronic components, and ZF Wind Power will invest Rs 175 crore in Coimbatore for wind turbine and gearboxes.

Seven institutional MoUs were signed with companies across trade, MSME development, drone training, technology transfer, and semiconductor skilling.

The government is targeting future-ready industries, including automotive, renewables, life sciences, electronics, R&D, and data centers. To support investors, the administration has implemented a 21-day approval clock for licenses and MoUs, aiming to reduce bureaucratic interference, the government said.

As many as 25 companies are making their first investment in the state.
