EPS Attacks DMK at GC

Chennai: No one on earth could stop the AIADMK from returning to power in the 2026 Assembly elections by winning 210 seats (of the total 234) and the DMK, frightened by the prospect of losing the polls had announce that it would give away free laptops to 10 lakh students, the party’s general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Wednesday.

Addressing the party’s general council and executive committee members at Vanagaram in Chennai, he said the DMK was giving away laptops five months after classes had started because it had already lost its popular appeal among the people.

The AIADMK was sitting in the opposition benches now because it lost two lakh votes in 43 constituencies in the 2021 elections and it was aware of its position now as it had its own strategies, he said in address that was preceded to the speeches of other party honchos

Recalling what he called as the ‘golden rule’ of the AIADMK between 2011 and 2021, Palaniswami said there were no big schemes in the DMK regime and that they were only unveiling the programmes devised during the AIADMK government by putting up their own labels on them.

Alleging corruption in all departments under the DMK rule, he said the government was unable to curb crimes mostly those related to narcotic sales because half of those indulging in them were DMK members.

Recalling the achievements of his government during the pandemic, he said the DMK government was steeped in corruption in all departments like TASMAC, sand mining, transport and electricity. Even in the Madurai Corporation they was corruption for which the Enforcement Directorate had now sent a notice, he said.

Many DMK Ministers would go behind bars one after the other in the next 100 days because the corruption had been so pervasive in various departments.
