Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin called up the people to support the state-wide protests in all district headquarters, organized by the women’s wing of his party on Saturday, against the TVK government in the State, condemning the price rise, collapse of law and order and lack of safety for women and children.

Stalin, in a video message on Friday, listed out the various alleged failings of the government and said that the illusion of a few lakhs of people who believed that a film hero would also be heroic in real life had landed the State in the present crisis.

He said law and order had collapsed in the State after the TVK took charge, with increasing crimes and the safety of children in jeopardy. Listing out various incidents like jailbreaks and murders outside police stations, Stalin regretted that TVK members were involved in many crimes.

Alleging that inflation had affected the State in the TVK regime, he said that the ruling party’s IT wing’s ‘online abusers’ were used to intimidate those who bring out the mistakes of the government.

The protest on Saturday should be a ‘wake-up' call to the government that had failed in almost all departments, and the DMK wanted to stand by the people, he said.
