Dengue Cases Higher in Western Tamil Nadu: Medical Education Director
There is no need to panic about dengue as treatment is given and all dengue patients have been cured, she pointed out
Thanjavur: Dengue fever is more in the western parts of the state and at Kanchipuram, said Lokanayaki, director of medical education (in-charge), here on Saturday.
She inspected Rajah Mirasudhar government hospital and Thanjavur Medical College Hospital (TMCH). Later, she told mediapersons that a 25-bed special ward has been created for treating dengue patients at TMCH. “Four persons have been admitted from Thanjavur,” said Lokanayaki. There is no need to panic about dengue as treatment is given and all dengue patients have been cured, she pointed out.
She said medical seats in Thanjavur medical college have been increased following the order issued by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
Seats in nursing courses and D.Pharm, which has been renamed as B.Pharmacy, have also been increased, she said.
Dr. Manimekalai, TMCH dean, was present on the occasion.
