CM Vijay Meets Industry Captains

The Chief Minister also assured support to the Japanese company’s expansion plans and enhanced export from the State: Reports

CHENNAI: Meeting captains of industry, particularly the top office-bearers of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay discussed with them ways to improve the ease in doing business in the State, policies that would help encourage investments and issues relating to a long-term vision on industrial growth on Friday.

Apart from the CII representatives, Vijay also met a slew of top honchos of global companies, particularly those having their units in Tamil Nadu on Friday. One of them was Thomas Dose, Group Managing Director of the BMW group, a company that has been active in the manufacturing sector since 2007 in Tamil Nadu.

Vijay and Dose had deliberations on BMW’s progress in electric vehicles production and explored possibilities for the strengthening of business in the State. With Jim AOT, the Chairman and Managing Director of Yamaha Motors in India, Vijay discussed the opportunities for further growth of the company in Tami Nadu.

The Chief Minister also assured support to the Japanese company’s expansion plans and enhanced export from the State. The Company’s other honchos were also present at the meeting in the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Secretariat.

Among the Indian industry leaders, TAFE CMD Mallika Srinivasan and the company’s vice chairperson Lakshmi Venu, had a detailed discussion with Vijay on the various aspects of industrial development in the State, employment generation, improving manufacturing skills and export promotion.
