CM Vijay Leaving for Delhi Today

Vijay is also scheduled to unveil a statue of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar installed inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University premises by the Tamil Nadu Government.

Chennai:Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is leaving to New Delhi on his first official visit to the national capital on Wednesday when he would be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and a few other Ministers and might stay overnight at the Tamil Nadu House to call on leaders of parties that supported his government in the vote of confidence.

A group of ministers of Vijay’s Cabinet would be accompanying him in the special aircraft that is scheduled to leave at 10 am. A high-level security review was held at the Chennai airport on Tuesday with various security agencies like Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, CISF and intelligence officials taking part in it.

Apart from calling on the Vice President of India, C P Radhakrishnan, Vijay has also sought an appointment with the President Droupadi Murmu. He might also meet Congress top leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Malikarjun Kharge.

Vijay is also scheduled to unveil a statue of Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar installed inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University premises by the Tamil Nadu Government.

The maiden meeting of the Chief Minister with the Prime Minister and other leaders in the national capital has evoked a spate of speculations over the discussions that might be carried out, particularly with the Prime Minister and Union Ministers over the release of funds due to the State. He is expected to return to Chennai on Thursday evening.
