CM Presents Awards to Cops

Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay presented a variety of 630 awards to officers and personnel from the departments of police, prison and correctional services and fire and rescue services who were chosen for exemplary works in their departments during the years from 2023 to 2026.

At a colourful event at the Rajarathnam services on Friday, the awards were handed over to the recipients of a few categories of awards including the President’s Medal, Union Home Minister’s Medals and the Chief Minister’s Medal.

The Chief Minister also flagged off 42 four-wheelers and 96 two-wheelers procured at a cost of over Rs 8.27 crore for the Coastal Security Group that patrols the 1074 km long coast that runs through 14 districts in the State.

Among those who received awards were two DGPs and 3 ADGPs besides officers and personnel of all ranks and services like home guards associated with the police department.
