CHENNAI: A collection of artists whose genres range from Linocut to Abstract, to woodwork and pottery would display their work at ‘The Art Market’ to be organized at the ‘Backyard’ in Adyar on Sunday, February 1, between 2 pm and 8 pm.
The Art Market intends to be a display-space that takes away from the traditionalist gallery centric artist-display system and create an alternative space for artists to put themselves out, both in terms of patron interaction as well as monetary terms.
Starting with Linocut works that focus on socio-economic issues and extending to artists who simply make live caricatures, doodles and do “everything weird”, there is a wide range of subjects and art styles covered in the show, besides an arts installation.
