    CHENNAI: A special Sports Policy for Tamil Nadu was being prepared at the behest of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay with a view to developing sports and games, State Minister for PWD and Sports Aadhav Arjuna said on Friday.

Distributing allotment orders for students in Classes 6,7,8,9 and 11 who had sought admission in the 27 sports hostels run by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority after the counselling organized at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, the Minister said every student getting admitted in the hostels would be groomed for sporting events on the lines of military training.

A total of 495 students, 151 girls and 344 boys, have been admitted in the sports hostels and they would undergo specialized coaching in a wide range of games like athletics, basketball, fencing, football, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, swimming, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting and Wushu.
