Young Woman Stabbed to Death in Kerala
Woman succumbed to injuries after being attacked during a meeting outside the resort
Thiruvananthapuram: A 20-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her friend in Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Dilsha, a resident of Kulathupuzha, was working as a receptionist at a resort. The accused, Jithu, was taken into custody by police soon after the incident.
According to police, the crime occurred between 1.30 pm and 2 pm. Jithu called Dilsha on the phone and asked her to meet him outside the resort. The two were engaged in a conversation for some time when a staff member said that Jithu suddenly took out a knife and stabbed Dilsha repeatedly in the throat.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police said Jith and Dilsha had been in a relationship for some time. The accused is reported to have committed the crime following a dispute between them.
Dilsha had joined the resort only recently. The incident has sent shockwaves among the staff.
