THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the historic victory in Tamil Nadu, Vijay's Tamilaka Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is eager to strengthen the actor’s fan base in Kerala as a step towards exploring the state’s political landscape. Following the win, celebrations erupted across various parts of Kerala, with fans bursting crackers and distributing sweets, reminiscent of the festivities organized by Vijay’s fan club during the release of his blockbuster films.

Reports suggest that efforts are underway to establish TVK’s first political unit in Vengapally, which borders Tamil Nadu in Wayanad district. A group of youngsters from Vengapally, near Kalpetta town, have applied to register the unit through an app called “My TVK,” with Safwan Khaleel leading the initiative.

The stupendous victory led to the installation of huge flex boards in Vengapally town to hail Vijay and TVK. The group planning to start the unit consists of youngsters, mainly IT professionals and commerce graduates.

They have decided to hold a formal meeting and announce the office bearers once the formalities concerning the TVK app are completed.

They are also receiving queries from Vijay fans in other districts. With Vijay’s massive fan base in Kerala, his party TVK already has the grassroots support to venture into Kerala politics.

However, actor-oriented politics has not gained much traction in the state. While actors like Suresh Gopi and Mukesh have won elections, no film personality has achieved the stature of MGR, Jayalalitha, or Vijay in Kerala yet.
