Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan accused Sangh Parivar forces of being behind recent attacks on Christmas celebrations across the country.
He said strong protests were raised against violence targeting Christians during festivities in North India and Palakkad, noting that BJP workers and Sangh Parivar groups sparked a riot in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, over alleged religious conversions. In Delhi, a carol group that included Malayalis was chased away by Bajrang Dal members, while in Odisha, people selling Christmas decorations faced threats.

Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the mob lynching of migrant worker Ram Narayan in Walayar, Palakkad, as a heinous act, stating that those responsible for the gruesome incident have been booked.
He said the attack was driven by hatred towards fellow human beings and was an attempt to replicate the “UP model” of violence. The victim, accused of being a Bangladeshi, was brutally assaulted by the mob . Vijayan affirmed that Kerala will not tolerate such acts of violence. He also announced a compensation of Rs 30 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the family of Ram Narayana.
