The Chief Minister who is campaigning in Kerala as the Congress party’s campaigner unveiled the UDF Manifesto along with the opposition leader V D Satheesan in Kochi today.
Kochi: “Pinarayi Vijayan and BRS leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao share similarities such as family rule, high corruption, and poor governance, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stated during the launch of the United Democratic Front (UDF) election manifesto held on Thursday.
The Chief Minister, who is campaigning in Kerala as the Congress party’s campaigner, unveiled the UDF Manifesto along with the opposition leader V D Satheesan in Kochi, which promises a "5+1 guarantee" to expand welfare programmes and support youth.
The Chief Minister said that for the past decade, K. Chandrasekhar Rao governed Telangana, from 2014 to 2024, while comparing his tenure with that of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala, pointing to similarities in family involvement, allegations of corruption, and poor governance.
“Kerala now faces a pivotal moment. Just as Telangana witnessed a political transformation in December 2023, described as a “miracle month” when Chandrasekhar Rao was defeated, and a new people’s government was elected, many believe Kerala is on the brink of a similar change. After ten years under Pinarayi Vijayan and the Left Democratic Front (LDF), the electorate appears ready to turn toward the UDF, he said. After 10 years, Kerala people are going to defeat Pinarayi Vijaya and LDF, and this time people are going to vote for UDF," he asserted.
Earlier on Wednesday, he made a scathing attack on both the BJP and the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), alleging that “voting for LDF is like voting for BJP. Addressing roadshows and public meetings at Nemom and surrounding constituencies, he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were engaged in a “secret pact” but publicly projecting opposing ideologies.
Elections to the Kerala Assembly, which has 140 seats, will be held on April 9th, 2026, and the votes will be counted, and the results will be declared on May 4th, 2026.
