Pahalgam Terrorist Attack Victim Ramachandran's Mortal Remains Arrive In Kochi
The family members have received information that the body would be shifted to Srinagar after the completion of medical and legal formalities.
Thiruvananthapuram: The mortal remains of N. Ramachandran, who was killed in a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, were brought to Cochin International Airport on Wednesday night.
Agriculture Minister P. Prasad, Opposition Leader V. D. Satheeshan, Hibi Eden MP, and BJP state president Rajeev Chandrashekhar paid their respects to Ramachandran at the airport. A large number of people gathered to honor him, as he was a native of Edapally, Kochi.
The body was displayed at the airport for public viewing before being transferred to the mortuary of a private hospital in Kochi. It will be kept at Changampuzha Park in Edapally from 7 AM to 9 AM for public homage. The funeral is scheduled for Friday at 11:30 AM at Changampuzha Crematorium, Edapally.
Ramachandran, 65, was gunned down in front of his daughter and grandsons during the attack in Pahalgam. According to his relatives, he was accompanying his daughter, Arathi, and grandsons for sightseeing, while his wife, Sheela, who has recently undergone angioplasty, chose to stay back.
Ramachandran was a former NRI and one of the 26 people killed in the tragic incident on Tuesday.
