Keralam Village Creates Gigantic Pookkalam in Memory of Beloved Jumbo

Wayanad: The entire village of Irulam came together to create a massive 25,000-square-foot Pookkalam as part of Onam celebrations, with the floral artwork also paying tribute to a beloved wild elephant named Maniyan.
The floral carpet was created at the Irulam Higher Secondary School ground using more than 10,000 kg of flowers, including marigolds, locally known as Chendumalli, and globe amaranths, or Vadamalli.
