Former Travancore Devaswom Board president P S Prasanth, arrested in the Sabarimala gold loss case, was shifted to a hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

Former TDB president P S Prasanth, who was arrested in connection with the Sabarimala gold loss case, has been shifted from jail to a hospital here after suffering a brain haemorrhage, officials said on Thursday.Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president Prasanth, the 17th accused in the case relating to the loss of gold from the Dwarapalaka (guardian deity) idols at the Sabarimala temple, was shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital on Tuesday night, officials said.

He was lodged at the Thiruvananthapuram District Jail. Officials of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) said his health condition was stable and he would remain at the hospital until he fully recovers.
The SIT will inform the Kollam Vigilance Court about the development as Prasanth is currently in judicial custody, officials said. The SIT arrested Prasanth on July 23 after its investigation found that he had approved the transfer of gold artefacts to a firm in Chennai for replating in 2025.
According to the SIT, the move was intended to conceal the loss of gold during replating work carried out under a different TDB board in 2019. The Vigilance Court had dismissed Prasanth's bail petition on August 22.
