Elderly Man Allegedly Hacked to Death by Son in Keralam
According to police, the victim Kumaran had returned home in the afternoon after fishing when his son Prajeesh allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon
Thrissur: A 75-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his son at Thoyakkavu here on Saturday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Kumaran, a native of Thoyakkavu under the Pavaratty police station limits. He was a fisherman.
According to police, Kumaran had returned home in the afternoon after fishing when his son Prajeesh allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon.
Hearing the commotion, neighbours rushed to the house and shifted Kumaran to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police reached the house after being alerted and took Prajeesh into custody.
Police suspect that Prajeesh may be addicted to drugs and that he frequently quarrelled with his father.
Police are questioning the accused at Pavaratty police station to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
A murder case has been registered against him.
