Ballari: Accusing the BJP of remaining silent over the alleged NEET question paper leak while raising objections over minor issues in Karnataka's CET examinations, the Youth Congress on Tuesday staged a protest in Ballari demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The demonstration was organised under the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Karnataka Youth Congress president Manjunath Gowda alleged that BJP was quick to criticise even minor issues relating to Karnataka's CET examinations but had chosen to remain silent over the alleged NEET paper leak despite its impact on lakhs of students. "This exposes the BJP's double standards on issues concerning students," he alleged.

Gowda accused the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) of failing to ensure a fair and transparent examination process, forcing students to face uncertainty and repeated stress. He also advocated giving greater importance to the state-level Common Entrance Test (CET).

Demanding that Dharmendra Pradhan take moral responsibility and resign, Gowda called for a comprehensive inquiry into the functioning of the NTA and urged the Centre to introduce greater transparency in the examination system.

The protest was led by Ballari District Youth Congress president K Srikanth, Rural District president NKS Manjunath, and District Social Media president Vivek Mandimath.
