Vijayendra-Led Ballari Chalo Padayatra Enters Ballari District

Ballari: The BJP’s Ballari Chalo padayatra entered Ballari district on Sunday amid a grand welcome from party workers and the public, as the march led by state president BY Vijayendra crossed the Tungabhadra after completing its sixth day.

The march was accorded a traditional ‘Poorna Kumbha’ welcome amid slogans and chants by party workers. People along the route also greeted the leaders as the padayatra proceeded into the district.

Before entering the district through the Kampli Assembly constituency, Vijayendra offered prayers to the Tungabhadra, seeking prosperity for farmers and people dependent on the river.

The day began with Vijayendra interacting with shepherd families in Marali village near Gangavathi. He spoke to the families dependent on sheep rearing and enquired about their livelihood, day-to-day difficulties and the facilities they expected from the government.

He listened to their concerns and sought details about the difficulties and losses faced by sheep-rearing families. The interaction gave Vijayendra an opportunity to directly hear the problems of the shepherd community, particularly those living in rural areas.

During a lunch break at Vinobanagar in Kampli taluk, Vijayendra interacted with students and youngsters and answered their questions about their aspirations and future.

“The talent, skills, enthusiasm and creativity of the youth are the real strength of a developed India. But due to the neglect of the Congress government, the younger generation is facing uncertainty because of inadequate infrastructure in schools and colleges, vacant teaching posts, unemployment and examination irregularities,” he said.

While the padayatra was passing through Vinobanagar, Vijayendra noticed a pothole on the road and personally filled it. The incident drew attention to the condition of local roads as the padayatra moved through the area.
