Sump Cover Robbed From Padma Shri Awardee's Residence in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A sump cover was stolen from the house of Grammy award winner Ricky Kej, a Padma Shri awardee, here at about 6 pm on Thursday. Kej mentioned the incident on his social media platform on Saturday to alert the residents over such thefts and to ask them to be vigilant. “This can happen to you too,” he wrote.
Kej said two persons came in front of his residence 15 minutes prior to the robbery. Kej did not share the location of his residence in Bengaluru, a detail sought by the police.
The CCTV footage posted by Kej showed two unidentified persons wearing full-face helmets arriving at his residence on a two-wheeler (KA03 HY 8751). The pillion rider dismounts from the bike, enters the house premises, lifts the iron lid of the sump and making off with it.
Kej shared screenshots of one of the accused and also the number plate of the vehicle involved in the theft.
