During the investigation, police identified Mohammed Anas, a resident of Vittla in Dakshina Kannada, as the person who forwarded the provocative message in the group. He has been traced and is currently being questioned. The investigation is in process.

Mangaluru: In connection with the murder of Suhas Shetty under the jurisdiction of the Bajpe police station in Mangaluru city, a case has been registered based on the forwarding of a provocative message in a WhatsApp group named "Mangaluru Muslim Yuva Sene."
The case has been filed at the Moodbidri Police Station under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case has now been transferred to the Mangaluru City CEN Crime Police Station for further investigation.
