Sting Clip Against Siddaramaiah Might Be Old One: Former Congress Min Rajanna
Supporting Kumaraswamy, Rajanna stated “the same sting against Siddaramaiah could have been used to throw him out of the Chief Minister’s chair.”
Bengaluru: A couple of days ago, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy made a startling claim of a reported” sting operation” against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah which allegedly led to his exit from the post in May this year and reacting to it, a cabinet colleague of Siddaramaiah, former minister KN Rajanna on Tuesday stated “the sting operation” against Siddarmaiah might be an old one probably that of 2011 or 2017.”
Supporting Kumaraswamy, Rajanna stated “the same sting against Siddaramaiah could have been used to throw him out of the Chief Minister’s chair.” A day before, Siddaramaiah stated he sought a stay from the High Court because a “false propaganda” was happening on social media. In 2011, Siddaramaiah was the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and in 2017 he was the Chief Minister.
“It might be an old sting operation,” stated Rajanna while adding “Many leaders have been targeted. A factory is at work in Karnataka where an owner along with his partners are at work.” He questioned “Who conducted the sting operation against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi (was seen with a girl)?”
Since, a sting operation has been conducted against Siddaramaiah, Rajanna said “Siddaramaiah has sought a stay from the High Court over its circulation in public domain.”
H.D. Kumaraswamy at a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday asked Siddaramaiah not to be mum over a sting operation conducted against him. “Siddaramaiah need not be intimidated. He is a fighter and should open his mouth on the issue,” he said. “I alone speaking on reported a sting operation do not serve any purpose,” said Kumaraswamy.
The Union Minister said, a sting operation was conducted against a former Chief Minister of Karnataka, next came Ramesh Jarkiholi’s turn to end his political career, later former minister K.N. Rajanna was targeted and he was silenced. Now, it is Siddaramaiah’s turn.
Kumaraswamy sought an comprehensive and impartial investigation into the reported sting operation where rival political leaders and their family members have been targeted and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation to take-up the investigation.
He said to discuss the matter with Union Minister of Home Amit Shah and also lodge a complaint with him.
“Investigation by CBI is needed to exposé persons behind sting operations and to punish them sternly,” said the Union Minister.
