Sold Baby Boy Rescued by Hiriyur Police
The motive for the mother to sell off her baby boy is yet to be ascertained however sources suspect the mother might have sold her baby to meet her daily expenses.
Bengaluru: A two-year-old baby boy allegedly sold by her mother along with her paramour has been rescued by Hiriyur police of Chitradurga district and the rescued boy is in the custody of officials of women and child welfare. Hiriyur police said the boy was rescued in 12-hours after registering a complaint.
The baby boy was sold by her mother for Rs 50,000 and a couple from Koppal district reportedly purchased the boy through a middleman, a resident of Hiriyur. The middleman who broke the deal is into scrap business.

Sources told Deccan Chronicle on Thursday the mother (21) is said to be into an illicit relationship with a person identified as Chandrappa with a criminal background. It is said the mother of the two-year-old boy made up her mind to sell the baby reportedly at the insistence of Chandrappa. They met a middleman in the scrap business and he struck a deal to sell off the boy.
A family belonging to Koppal wanted a baby boy and they were approached by the middleman who is also their relative. The deal was struck for Rs 50,000 and the boy was sold a month back. However, the selling of a baby boy came to the notice of officials of a child helpline in Hiriyur and the helpline representatives with the help of police reached Koppal to rescue the baby boy.
The mother reportedly refused to accept the boy which was rescued by the police and the boy was handed over to the custody of officials of women and child welfare.
The mother of the boy and her paramour have been arrested by the police along with 4 family members involved in the purchase of the bay boy. Search is on by the police to trace the absconding middleman.
