BENGALURU: While Booth Level Officers have specify direction to conduct door-to-door verification of voters in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in Karnataka to update voters list, some BLOs were caught on camera reportedly engaged in pool distribution of Enumeration Forms by asking voters to gather at particular place and handed over Forms to fill-up and return it back to them for digitization.
In a video recorded and posted over a social media account reportedly belonging to Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru, a BLO was taken to task by public after she was found issuing Enumeration Forms to voters at a house and the public her to stop distribution of Forms and wanted her to visit door-to-door for revision exercise of voters list. The BLO stated “It was better to sit in one particular place and get the work done.” Repeated efforts by Deccan Chronicle on Friday to contact Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukumar went futile.
A couple reportedly from Bengaluru city showed a BLO engaged in a particular location was going about his work of distributing Enumeration Forms and he defended his work stating “It would be a difficult task to carry all 500 Forms during the door-to-door visits.

State Bharatiya Janata Party president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra told reporters in Bengaluru that he registered a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka to immediately initiate steps to sort out the confusion over the conduct of Special Intensive Revision in Karnataka.
The leaders of Janata Dal Secular (JDS), Karnataka unit lodged a complaint with State Election Commission alleging irregularities in the conduct of Revision of Electoral Rolls and accused BLO engaged in Revision of Electoral Rolls at Tavarekere of Yeshwanthpur Assembly seat wherein the BLO was seen sitting at a particular location and distribution of Forms to voters to complete the Special Intensive Report (SIR).
