Quarrel at Petrol Bunk Ends in Firing, Owner Held in Vijayapura

Vijayapura:A quarrel at a petrol bunk in Mattihal village under Kolhar police station limits ended in firing on Sunday.
Vijayapura district Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said that the accused, Sangappa Poojary (48), owner of the petrol bunk, allegedly opened fire from his licensed pistol during an argument with Sukhadev Chalawadi and his friend Raju Chalawadi.
According to preliminary information, Sukhadev and Raju had gone to the petrol bunk when an argument broke out between them and Poojary over an issue. During the altercation, Poojary allegedly fired rounds from his licensed pistol.
“The petrol bunk owner allegedly fired rounds from his licensed pistol, resulting in Sukhadev sustaining injuries. He has been shifted to the hospital for treatment,” the SP said.
Police officials have arrested Poojary.
