Pregnant Women Found Dead in Bengaluru, Victim’s Family Alleges Murder

Bengaluru: Shilpa, a 27-year-old techie, was found dead at her in-laws’ house in Suddaguntepalya of Bengaluru city on Thursday night. While Shilpa's parents’ allege murder, in-laws family stated she died by suicide. Police have arrested her husband Praveen, who turned out to be a ‘chat’ vendor.

Shilpa was married to Praveen in 2022 and the couple have a boy. She was pregnant.

The family members of Shilpa alleged they sold their house in Hubballi for Rs 40 lakh to meet the marriage expenses. Prior to marriage, Praveen had stated to Shilpa’s family that he was an M.Tech degree holder which later turned out to be false. In fact, he was running a chat centre business.

After marriage, Praveen demanded Rs 10 lakh from Shilpa and her family arranged the amount. About three months back, Shilpa and Praveen had a dispute and Shilpa returned to her parents. After counselling, Shilpa returned back to her in-laws. Investigations are on.
