Old Assault Video of BJP Woman Worker Resurfaces Amid Disrobing Row in Hubballi
Chalavadi T.Narayanaswamy claimed that the resurfacing of the video exposed what he described as the Congress party’s internal practices
Hubballi: Even as controversy continues over the alleged disrobing of a BJP woman worker inside a police van during her arrest, an old video purportedly showing her assaulting a man has resurfaced and is now being widely circulated on social media.
The viral clip allegedly shows the woman assaulting a man, who is seen pleading for mercy. According to sources, the video dates back around three to four years and is linked to an earlier criminal case in which she was arrested and later released on bail. The case reportedly pertained to allegations of kidnapping and extortion.
Reacting to the circulation of the video, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi T. Narayanaswamy, claimed that the footage pertained to an incident that occurred when the woman was associated with the Congress party. He alleged that the video was recorded during that period, when she was in close association with a woman Congress corporator.
(The same Congress corporator had filed a complaint against the woman on January 2, alleging assault during voter mapping exercise. The BJP worker was arrested in connection with the case on January 5, during which the alleged disrobing incident is said to have occurred.)
Alleging political motives, Narayanaswamy claimed that the resurfacing of the video exposed what he described as the Congress party’s internal practices. He alleged that party leaders record such videos to exert pressure on workers and release them if they leave the party or oppose the leadership, and cautioned Congress workers to remain vigilant.
