Man ends life after killing wife over argument in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A man allegedly murdered his wife following a heated argument and later ended his own life by consuming acid at Nellur Kemraje village in Sullia Taluk.
According to police officials, the accused, Ramachandra Gowda, known for his habitual excessive alcohol consumption, returned home in an inebriated state on the night of January 17. After verbally abusing his elderly parents and wife, he engaged in a heated argument with his wife, Vinoda Kumari, in the under-construction kitchen of their home.
In a fit of rage, Ramachandra reportedly shot his wife with a gun, killing her on the spot. Overcome by the situation, he consumed rubber acid, leading to his death.
Based on the complaint filed by Ramachandra’s son Prashanth SR, Sullia police have registered a case under BNS Section 103 (Murder) and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway.
