KJ George Urges UAE Kannadiga Entrepreneurs to Invest in Karnataka Tourism

Bengaluru: Karnataka Tourism Minister K J George has invited Kannadiga entrepreneurs and investors based in the UAE to become active partners in Karnataka's next phase of tourism, infrastructure and economic growth.
Addressing 65 leading Kannadiga business leaders representing more than 20 sectors at the "Invest in Karnataka - NRI Business Community Meet, Dubai 2026," he said Karnataka offers significant opportunities for global investors and assured government support in facilitating serious investment proposals.
According to a statement by the Tourism Department here, the interaction, organised by the Karnataka NRI Forum UAE, brought together entrepreneurs, investors and senior Karnataka government representatives to explore opportunities in tourism, trade, infrastructure, connectivity and business partnerships.
Tourism Secretary Ram Prasath Manohar made a detailed presentation on Karnataka's tourism potential and investment opportunities, highlighting scope for private participation and PPP projects across leisure, business, medical, wellness, spiritual, coastal and experience-based tourism.
He said the state is focusing on strengthening quality accommodation, destination infrastructure, visitor experiences and new tourism products, while creating investible projects for the private sector.
UAE business leaders Ronald Colaco, Moideen Thumbay and KNRI Forum UAE president Praveen Shetty participated in the interaction, it said.
Discussions also focused on improving air, road and coastal connectivity, investment facilitation and international positioning of Karnataka, officials said.
According to the minister, Kannadigas across the world have built successful enterprises and global networks.
"We want that entrepreneurial strength to connect more closely with Karnataka. Our government will facilitate credible investors and help translate serious proposals into projects," George said.
The meeting concluded with business leaders expressing interest in taking forward specific investment and tourism opportunities with the state government, officials added.
