Karnataka Governor Lauds ‘Drugs Vaddu Bidda’ Campaign Film

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has praised the team behind “Drugs Vaddu Bidda” (Say No to Drugs, Child), an anti-drug campaign film produced by the Guntur district police to create awareness among youngsters about the growing menace of drugs.

The Governor watched the Telugu campaign film at a special screening at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru and appreciated the film unit’s efforts, said Movie Artists Association AP founder and filmmaker D. Dileep Raja.

Dileep Raja said Guntur district SP Vakul Jindal had taken the initiative to get the campaign film made as part of the police department’s social responsibility efforts. The film was intended for screening in theatres to spread awareness among youth about the dangers of drug abuse.

Following the screening, Gehlot felicitated actors Narasimha Raju, Ramesh Varma, Bhavani Kapoor and Samudrala Sridhar Sharma, besides technical team members Yerrababu and Lavanya, for their contributions.

Dileep Raja said preparations were under way in Bengaluru to produce a Kannada version of the campaign film. IPS officer Narayana was making arrangements for the Kannada adaptation, which would soon be shot with Kannada actors.
