BENGALURU: Wife of Congress MLA and former minister C.P. Yogeshwar, Malavika on Wednesday met Karnataka party incharge and general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Randeep Singh Surjewala and lodged a complaint against the MLA accusing him of ‘harassment.’ C.P. Yogeshwar represents Channapatna Assembly seat in Ramanagar district.

Over meeting Surjewala, she said, being a mother she is trying to get some support in her fight for justice and finding avenues to set things right in her family.

She met Surjewala at the office of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in Bengaluru where Surjewala was engaged in meeting party MLAs to listen to their problems, if any, in discharging their roles.

After meeting Surjewala, Malavika told reporters “My children are on streets now after being associated with their father for many years. Cases have been filed against my children one after the other by their father (C.P. Yogeshwar).”

“I being a mother is witnessing my children fighting against their father,” she said and stated “Is there any instance of a father filing cases against his children?. I have never come across an instance of a father filing cases against his children,” Malavika said and stated “I’m hurt.”

Malavika said “The trouble started over sharing properties even though there were other reasons for giving rise to family disputes but tolerated them.” Adding, she said, “I never wanted to expose family disputes.” She accused Yogeshwar of being a ‘narrow-minded’ person over him filing cases against his children.

Continuing, she said, a case has been filed against my daughter Nisha over property partition and accused Yogeshwar of making the family dispute public by filing repeated cases against them.

“We have to appear before the Court on a regular basis,” she said and stated “We do not have resources or political power like him (Yogeshwar). I’m fighting the cases filed against us having faith in justice,” said Malavika.

“It is harassment for us by filing back to back cases against us. We are common citizens now. Daily roaming to Court is harassment,” she said. Being an elected representative, Malavika questioned “What is the message the MLA is giving to the society?”
