Mangaluru: BJP state president BY Vijayendra on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of pursuing anti-Hindu policies and warned that the BJP has the strength to uproot the Congress government in the coming days.
Launching the party’s Janaakrosha Yatre in Mangaluru, he alleged that the Congress was indulging in minority appeasement, suppressing BJP workers, and burdening citizens with price hikes, while ignoring the concerns of the Hindu community.
“83 year old Vatsala Kamat, who serves as a booth president, handed me the BJP flag and flagged off our yatra in Mangaluru today. Her gesture reflects the spirit and determination of our karyakartas across the state. This is a powerful symbolic message — that the BJP has the strength to uproot the Congress government in the days to come,” Vijayendra said.
“CM Siddaramaiah has repeatedly insulted Hindus. As the Chief Minister, he is directly responsible for this. The people of Karnataka, especially our karyakartas, have the strength to remove the Congress government from its roots,” he declared.
He pointed to a recent incident involving the accused in BJP worker Praveen Nettaru’s murder.
“I saw it in the newspaper — the traitor who murdered Praveen Nettaru was brought to court yesterday. One traitor came and kissed another. If the BJP were in power in the state, and if a leader like Yediyurappa were the Chief Minister, our BJP government would have shot the traitor on the spot,” he claimed.
Vijayendra also criticized the government’s suppression of BJP workers. “In Kushalnagar, a party worker raised concerns about hospital and toilet conditions through a social media post. A case was filed against him, and though he secured interim bail, the Congress government harassed him to the extent that he attempted suicide,” he alleged.
He accused the Siddaramaiah-led government of anti-Hindu policies, questioning the 4 percennt reservation extended to Muslims in government projects. “Why is there no provision for Hindus? Don’t they have a right to live, Mr. Siddaramaiah?” he questioned.
Vijayendra also took issue with government schemes aimed at the Muslim community, including financial assistance of up to Rs 30 lakh for overseas education.
He reiterated that BJP workers will uproot what he described as an anti-Hindu Congress regime. “Since Siddaramaiah became CM, prices of over 50 essential items have gone up. Milk prices have increased by Rs 9, and petrol and diesel by over Rs 7 per litre,” he added.
Vijayendra took a swipe at Congress ministers for constantly blaming the Union government. “Even Omar Abdullah praised PM Modi for his contribution to Jammu and Kashmir’s all-round development during his Budget speech,” he said, urging Siddaramaiah to take note.
He lashed out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, questioning whether he was functioning as the Chief Minister of Karnataka or merely the leader of the Congress party.
Vijayendra accused Siddaramaiah of being too afraid to leave Bengaluru, fearing that Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar would usurp his position.
“The fear of losing the CM’s chair to Shivakumar is holding Siddaramaiah back from touring the state,” Vijayendra claimed. He added that the CM also fears facing public anger due to rising prices and poor governance.
Former minister B. Sriramulu claimed the state is unsafe for BJP workers and Hindus, accusing "jihadi forces" of threatening them.
