Husband slits wife's throat in public glare over suspected fidelity issue

BENGALURU: A 35-year-old Sharada was allegedly slashed in the throat leading to her death in a public place in Dodda Teguru near Electronics City of Bengaluru city on Friday night at around 8 pm by her husband identified as Krishnappa (43) who suspected her fidelity. The accused Krishnappa (43), is a resident of Bagepalli in Chikkaballapura district.

Sources said, Krishnappa waited for his separated wife Sharada with an intention to kill her and purchased two knives to attack her. On Friday evening, having planned an attack on his wife Krishnappa, on his arrival to Bengaluru from Bagepalli, waited for Sharada to return from her work place and his wait for his wife lasted for hours before she came out of her work place to return home. Krishnappa was well aware of the schedule of Sharada and accordingly planned to attack her.

Upon sighting her, he pounced on Sharada with a knife and attacked her while she walked to reach her home at Pragati Nagar of Dodda Teguru. He slashed her throat with a knife a couple of times in full public glare before he made attempts to escape from the scene of crime.

However, an alert public intervened and were successful in nabbing him. The public caught Krishnappa and detained him before he was handed over to the police.

After the brutal attack on Sharada, she was rushed to a hospital nearby but doctors declared her brought dead. It is said Krishnappa and Sharada were married 17 years back and have two children- a 15 year-old son and 12-year-old girl.

About four years back, Sharada got separated from Krishnappa after he started to suspect her fidelity. While her son remained with Krishnappa, daughter stayed with her in Bengaluru. Electronics City Police have book murder case against Krishnappa and recovered two knives from the accused.
