Hacker Arrested From Delhi, Search On to Trace Others

Bengaluru:Bengaluru police arrested a person from Sonia Nagar of Delhi on November 6 in connection with alleged hacking the Whatsapp account of a renowned Kannada film actor and Director’s wife Priyanka Upendra wherein the hacker along with his friends fraudulently transferred Rs 1.65 lakh from her bank account.
In this regard, Priyanka Upendra, a resident of Sadashivanagar of Bengaluru city, lodged a complaint with the police on September 15 and a joint team comprising officers and staff from Sadashivanagar police station and Central Division Cyber, Economic and Narcotics Police station swung into action. The team travelled to Delhi in pursuit of the hacker.
He was arrested and during interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the hacking and revealed to the police that he, along with his friends, was involved in the hacking act.
The accused has been remanded to 5-days police custody and after his police custody ended on Tuesday. The accused has now been remanded to judicial custody. Police investigations are on to nab remaining accomplices in hacking the account of Priyanka Upendra.
