Prof. Kadiyala Chandra Babu Naidu, associate professor of physics at GITAM University’s Bengaluru campus, has been recognised among the world’s top 2 per cent of scientists for the seventh consecutive time.

His research focuses on advanced ceramics and composite materials, contributing to the development and characterisation of advanced functional materials. Hailing from Itugullapadu village in Sri Avadhuta Kasinayana mandal of Kadapa district, he has established a research profile in materials science and related interdisciplinary fields.

The recognition is based on standardised citation indicators developed by Stanford University professor John P.A. Ioannidis in collaboration with Elsevier–ScienceDirect. The database identifies researchers with significant scientific impact using standardised citation metrics.

Prof. Naidu’s reported rank in the science-wide database is 160,242. The latest recognition was published this month, marking another milestone in his academic career.

He expressed gratitude to his native village, Itugullapadu, his research mentors, collaborators and researchers worldwide whose citations have acknowledged his work in scientific publications.
